Molten Glass on Wood

Molten Glass on Wood - Handcrafted Recycled Glass Décor

Our Molten Glass on Wood collection brings together sculptural glass vessels shaped over natural wood, creating bowls, vases, candle holders and decorative pieces where no two forms are quite the same.

The recycled glass is heated and formed over the individual curves, ridges and grain of the timber beneath. As it cools, the glass takes on the shape of its wooden base, creating a distinctive fusion of smooth glass and raw organic texture.

Continue the natural-material look with our Wooden Carvings & Sculptures, add softer light with our Candle Holders, or bring in more handcrafted glass, wood and movement through our Windchimes.

More about molten glass on wood

Rather than placing a finished glass vessel onto a separate stand, the wood helps determine the final shape of the glass itself. The hot recycled glass is worked over the natural timber and allowed to settle around its contours before cooling into place.

Natural grain, knots, curves and irregular surfaces mean each wooden base is different, so variations in the finished glass shape are part of the character of the piece. Some designs use gamal wood, while others may use different natural wood forms or finishes, so individual product details should be checked where the specific wood type matters.

These pieces work beautifully as shelf décor, table centrepieces and statement home accessories, with selected designs also created as practical bowls, vases, candle holders or glassware.
