The Kiss of Death Bronze-Finish Figurine

A winged skeleton bends towards a woman in The Kiss of Death, their embrace held within a sweep of dark feathers and flowing robes. The scene balances tenderness with mortality, giving the figure a gothic romantic quality without losing the stark contrast of bone against fabric.

Standing 25.7 cm tall, the hand-painted resin figurine is finished in warm bronze-like tones that run across the woman’s clothing, the skeletal form and the textured base beneath them. One wing curves closely around the pair while the other rises above, enclosing the figures and drawing the eye back towards the kiss at the centre.

Love, Mortality and the Kiss of Death

The phrase “kiss of death” has long carried the idea of something beautiful or intimate becoming inseparable from danger, finality or mortality. This sculpture turns that expression into a literal scene, bringing tenderness and death together within the same embrace.

The wings deepen that symbolism further. Rather than standing apart from the couple, they fold around them almost like a protective enclosure, softening the severity of the skeleton and giving the composition a more mournful, romantic character.

Why This Design Works

The contrast between bone, fabric and feathers gives the sculpt much of its depth. The skeletal figure provides the hardest lines, the woman’s robes bring movement and softness, and the wings gather both together into one continuous silhouette.

The macabre side of the scene connects naturally with our Reapers and Skeleton Ornaments, while the warm metallic finish places it comfortably beside our Bronzed Figurines. For more dark sculptural pieces with a gothic edge, browse our Gargoyles, Grotesques and Horror collection.

Display and care

Support the figurine beneath the base when moving it and leave enough clearance around the wing edges and heads. Dust the robe folds, feathers and smaller details gently with a soft, dry brush, avoiding pressure on the embracing arms.
