White Knight Tankard Small

White-robed knights stand beneath stone-effect arches around this small medieval tankard, with red crosses marking their shields and clothing. Gold-toned borders break through the grey masonry, giving the pale figures a brighter presence against the darker castle-like setting.

Standing approximately 11.3 cm tall, the hand-painted polyresin exterior is sculpted with blockwork, raised architectural detail and ornamentation along the curved handle. The compact size keeps the knights, shields and heraldic colours closely grouped, while the lighter inner rim contrasts with the weathered stone-effect surround.

White Mantles and the Red Cross

The white clothing and red-cross heraldry draw strongly on imagery associated with the Knights Templar, the medieval Christian military order founded in the early 12th century. Templar knights became particularly recognisable in later art and popular culture through the contrast of pale mantles and the red cross.

This tankard uses that familiar visual language rather than relying on a single knight portrait. Figures appear amongst stone arches and masonry, giving the whole exterior the feel of a small medieval scene wrapped around the vessel.

A Compact Medieval Display Piece

The smaller scale keeps the red crosses and pale robes close together, while the grey stonework gives them enough contrast to remain clear around the curved surface. Gold-toned accents add a little richness without taking the design away from its darker medieval palette.
