Highland Guard Armoured Cow Bust

Highland Guard gives the familiar shaggy Highland cow a full warrior treatment, with a horned helmet, chainmail across the chest and silver-coloured shoulder armour framing the face. Warmer accents around the horns and helmet break up the darker metallic tones, while the cow’s long fringe and broad muzzle remain unmistakably Highland.

Standing approximately 26.7 cm tall, the hand-painted polyresin bust is raised on a dark pedestal and built around contrasting textures. Fine fur sits beside individual mail links and smooth armour plates, while the helmet crest adds height above the natural curve of the horns.

  • Height: Approximately 26.7 cm
  • Material: Polyresin
  • Finish: Hand-painted
  • Design: Armoured Highland cow bust
  • Details: Horned helmet, chainmail and silver-coloured shoulder armour
  • Display: Dark pedestal base

A Highland Cow Dressed for Battle

The humour comes from how seriously the armour has been treated. Chainmail, shoulder plates and the crested helmet all suggest a formal warrior portrait, yet the shaggy face beneath remains calm, familiar and distinctly bovine.

That contrast keeps Highland Guard from feeling like a simple novelty. The sculpted fur and armour give the bust enough detail to stand on its own as a fantasy display piece, while the Highland cow character keeps the expression warm and recognisable.

Built Like a Warrior Portrait

At 26.7 cm tall, this is much more of a statement piece than a small cow ornament. The pedestal gives it the presence of a traditional bust, with the helmet, horns and layered chainmail carrying the eye upwards through the sculpt.

For anyone already building a shelf around Highland Cow Ornaments and Gifts, this takes the subject in a completely different direction. It also works well among Animal Ornaments that lean more quirky than realistic, while the helmet and mail give it an easy visual connection to the armoured figures in History and Mythology.

Display and care

Lift the bust with support beneath the pedestal rather than by the horns or helmet. Dust the fur, chainmail and armour gently with a soft, dry brush, taking extra care around the helmet crest and horn tips.
